Red Bull Racing driver Sergio Perez will be looking to boost his ambitions of winning the Formula One world title by clinching the
Japanese Grand Prix.

The Mexican racing driver failed to secure a podium spot at the recent Singapore Grand Prix title on 17 September as he finished eighth.
Perez started on the 13th grid and went on to finish as eighth as he collected just four points with his Formula One world title ambitions taking a knock.
Standings
The man nicknamed Checo remains second on the World Drivers' Championship standings having accumulated 223 points from 15 races.
Perez is now 151 points behind leader Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing as the two teammates' battle for the championship continues.
Why Perez could win the 2023 Japanese Grand Prix
Checo came close to winning last year's Japanese Grand Prix as he finished second with his teammate Verstappen winning an enthralling race.
Perez, who won this season's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and Azerbaijan Grand Prix, will be keen to go one step further in Japan after finishing second in Singapore.
What did he say?
“Not a nice day for us. It was quite difficult, quite tricky. With the Alex [collision] incident, I think nothing there, a racing incident," Perez said after the 2023 Japanese Grand Prix.
"Also, with the Safety Car, I was ahead of him and Alex overtook me under the Safety Car but the system… couldn’t tell us at the time that I was ahead. But anyway, it’s how things are and now let’s look forward to Japan.
“I think [our performance in Singapore] was circuit-dependent, and we should be a lot stronger when we’re in Japan hopefully."
